Trait 8 of 13

Respect

In humility value others above yourselves.
Philippians 2:3
Why it matters

Why this shapes a child

Respect is not merely good manners; it is treating every person as someone made in God’s image. A student who genuinely believes that will speak differently to a teacher, a bus driver, and a classmate no one else sits with.

Try this at home

Ask who at school gets left out, and talk together about one thing your child could say to them tomorrow.

Classes cover one trait at a time, so a short conversation at home is usually all it takes to reinforce the week's lesson.

Help your child grow in respect.

Weekly classes are voluntary, parent-approved, and led by trusted neighbors from churches across New London.
